The 2018 Chevrolet Spark is expected to work on similar lines with its 3rd generation and a greater insight will provide more details. Chevy’s Spark has always been known to be a small city car. Laying its main focus on maneuverability and fuel economy. This American based automaker has always targeted this vehicle for the small families and college students.  Sources say Chevrolet is currently working on a new engine to enhance fuel economy further.

Being a small car, expect Chevrolet Spark 2018 to use a 1.4-liter Ecotec inline 4 engine. Although exact specs are yet to be confirmed, this engine will probably produce around 90 hp along with 80 lb-ft of torque.

Considering that, Chevrolet is likely to use lighter materials for its upcoming car. The 2018 Chevrolet Spark will accelerate from 0 – 60 mph 10.8 seconds which is pretty good in this segment. This inline-4 engine will be mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission which is expected to surge its EPA ratings to 40 mpg combined.

The Chevrolet Spark 2018 is also expected to come with a longer wheelbase which in turn will improve leg room space for its occupants. It will house an analog instrument cluster along with a 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. This comes fitted with a premium 6 speaker audio system, 4G LTE, and also Wi-Fi connectivity.

From the outside, Spark retains its basic design aspects. It includes that oversized front bumper that houses a couple of fog lamps and Chevrolet’s black mesh grille. But standard Xenon headlights come bracketed with turning lights at both extremes. Body decals give the car an aggressive pose while its sloping roof design is sustained. Also, the Chevrolet Spark 2018 uses standard 15-inch wheels perfect for a city car which comes mated to P185/55R15 tires at both ends.

Standard safety features include front and rear airbags along with hill start assist and brake assist. Traction control and a rearview camera have also been provided which help in highway cruising and parking respectively.

The 2018 Chevrolet Spark will face direct competition from Fiat 500 and Mitsubishi Mirage in this segment. Price at around $13,500, it is expected to be released during the fall of 2017 or early 2018 as hinted by Chevrolet.
