The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 will bring plenty of exciting things to the half-ton pickup truck market. The vehicle is getting a complete redesign with so many new details inside, out, and under the hood.
Unofficially, the car manufacturer plans to introduce it early next year at the 2018 NAIAS, but the truck won’t hit the U.S. dealerships before next summer.
One of the most important changes for the new generation GMC Sierra 1500 is a new architecture. From now on, the pickup will get some aluminum parts and ability to use more engine options. Still, it’s important to say that the carmaker isn’t planning to make the new Sierra 1500 totally from aluminum as Ford did with the F-150. Instead, they will use both aluminum and steel, so the new model won’t lose more from 300 pounds.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Engine Options:
Power wide, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 will rely on a number of amazing options. Some of the today’s mills such as the 5.3-liter and 6.2L V-8 will stay as they are now. However, the manufacturer plans to add a new V6 turbo unit under the hood, as well as a mild hybrid technology. In addition, the truck will get an oil-burner to compete with Ram and Ford, plus a 10-speed automatic transmission for most of the options.
According to the latest news, GMC Sierra 1500 will come with the diesel engine also. This will probably be 4.5 liters Duramax turbodiesel V8 engine. Some rumors indicate that this engine can produce up to produce 310 hp and 520 lb-ft.
